TAIWANESE AIRLINES REPORT CARGO UP 1.8% IN H1

Taiwan Civil Aeronautics Administration recently reported that cargo traffic for domestic airlines rose 1.8% or 995,620 tonnes for the six months ended June.

 

TCAA said Daily Air, based in Songshan and operating scheduled passenger services to offshore islands, recorded the highest increase in cargo volume, or an increase of 17.8%.

 

China Airlines, the territory's flag carrier, also saw an increase in volume by 6.3% or 673,285 tonnes.

 

EVA Air, which operates passenger and dedicated cargo services to over 40 international destinations in Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America, also saw cargo increase by 2.8% or 294,821 tonnes. 

 

Other Taiwanese airlines Uni Airways saw cargo drop by 45% to14,623 tonnes; Mandarin Airlines' freight, also decreasing by 54.8% to 7336 tonnes; Tigerair Taiwan posting 3,864 tonnes of cargo for the period — also down 71.9% and newest Taiwanese carrier, STARLUX Airlines, recording 1,228 tonnes of freight for the first half.
