Under the partnership, Emirates SkyCargo will gain access to capacity on the Cargolux Boeing 747F fleet, while Cargolux will gain access to Emirates SkyCargo’s bellyhold capacity on its Airbus A380s and 777s.

Both carriers will also enter block space and interline agreements on routes in each other’s networks that they do not operate.

“Cargolux is delighted to be working with Emirates SkyCargo on this agreement,” said Richard Forson [centre], president and CEO of Cargolux. “As one of the leading carriers worldwide, Emirates SkyCargo is an important player in the industry as Cargolux is, and our supplementary capabilities allow us to develop service offerings that both of us could not provide on our own. Emirates SkyCargo’s choice of Cargolux as their preferred partner shows that our quest for quality and personal attention to customers is recognized and well received.”

Emirates SkyCargo will also launch a freighter flight to Luxembourg in June 2017, while Cargolux will increase the frequency of its thrice-weekly flight to Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport. Cargo from both carriers will be handled under one roof at each of the two airports.

“Emirates SkyCargo is committed to being the leading player in the global air cargo industry providing our customers with the highest standards of products and services,” said Nabil Sultan [left], divisional senior vice president of cargo at Emirates. “Cooperating with Cargolux who is a leading, established and specialized air cargo operator with strengths that are complementary to our own will allow us to present a broader enriched product offering and add value to our customers.”
