DHL Global Forwarding has obtained the Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics certification from the International Air Transport Association for its air freight station in Singapore.
“Over many years, DHL has been actively involved with IATA’s continuous efforts to adequately answer to the regulatory demands of the pharmaceutical industry,” said David Bang, global head of DHL Temperature Management Solutions and CEO of LifeConEx at DHL Global Forwarding. “This standardized approach in the air freight industry means productivity, accuracy and reliability. All of those lead to product integrity and patient safety.”
According to DHL, the 80,000-square-foot Singapore facility dedicates 1,200 square feet to the 20-25°C temperature range. The area can store 108 skids and is equipped with eight temperature loggers and two temperature probes.
“Being a major transportation hub for the life sciences and healthcare industry, the CEIV Pharma certification for DHL Global Forwarding Singapore further strengthens and validates our established stringent ‘best in class’ operation procedures for all our customers in this sector, which help them meet the increasing regulatory requirements,” said Stephen Ly, managing director of DHL Global Forwarding Singapore.
DHL began pursuing the IATA CEIV Pharma certification for its global stations in the third quarter of 2016.
