TASK FORCE TO PROMOTE FRANKFURT-HAHN AIRPORT AS ALTERNATIVE
October 17, 2017

A task force at Frankfurt-Hahn led by COO Christoph Goetzmann will promote the airport as an alternative to the major European hubs.

Frankfurt-Hahn is located within reach of industrial centres in like the Ruhrvalley and Rhine-Main metropolitan region in Germany, as well as Luxembourg, northern France and the Netherlands. It is also directly connected to Frankfurt Airport by highway, a journey which takes less than two hours.

“In the upcoming months, we will introduce our improved service in a road show to all international airlines,” Goetzmann said.

Unlike Frankfurt Airport, Frankfurt-Hahn operates 24/7, allowing for faster delivery of goods to destinations in Central Europe. Freight to and from markets outside Europe can also be transported faster than at neighbouring European hubs that suffer from congestion.

Frankfurt-Hahn handled more than 58,000 tonnes of cargo between January and July 2017, doubling its movement of goods year-on-year.

HNA Modern Logistics subsidiary Suparna Airlines recently launched a non-stop Boeing 747-400F flight between Xi’an and Frankfurt-Hahn.

Frankfurt-Hahn Airport is 82.5% owned by the HNA Group.
