ACL Airshop has promoted Anthony Morgan to the role of vice chairman.
Morgan had previously been president and CEO for over 12 years, and has been with the company and its predecessors for 25 years. He engineered the recapitalization and merger of ACL and Airshop 10 years ago. During his CEO tenure, the business has more than tripled.
According to ACL Airshop, in 2016, Morgan negotiated for multiple institutional investment companies and Ranger Aerospace to infuse new strength into the company to take it to its next level. He remains on the board of directors of parent company Ranger Airshop Holdings, Inc., is a substantial shareholder, and will be a key advisor to the company’s management and its investors as vice chairman of ACL Airshop.
Morgan was responsible for the introduction of one-way ULD leasing, the world’s first FAA-certified air cargo strap, and developing an exclusive lease fleet of lightweight pallets and nets. He has also built ACL Airshop into a one-stop shop for air cargo providing leasing, sales, repairs, manufacturing and ULD Control. In the past two years, the company has expanded its worldwide network from 27 to 46 airports hubs.
“When I look back to where we started and where we are today, I am truly humbled by our success,” Morgan said. “We are the global leader in custom ULD solutions and our equipment can be found at almost every airport in the world. This is a credit to each and every person who works at ACL Airshop. I have been truly blessed to work with the best team in the industry!"
He added that the company plans to ramp up its hub investments around the world in 2018.
“Looking to the future, I have full confidence in our management team; these executives are the best in the world at what they do,” he said. “We will continue to grow our network utilizing a customer-driven strategy. We are building a bigger footprint. It makes us an even better partner for our airline clients. We will expand to a significant majority of the world’s top 100 air cargo airports in the coming years. We make our customers measurably more efficient; saving them time and money. And, our new technology investments are truly a game-changer for our hundreds of airline clients. Our expansion strategy is exciting and well-capitalized: we are creating the strongest niche leader for custom ULD solutions in the world. The future is extremely bright for ACL Airshop!”
Headquartered near Greenville, South Carolina, ACL Airshop’s main international office is in Amsterdam. Other hubs include Bogota, Dallas, Dubai, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Sao Paulo, Shanghai and Tokyo.
“Today’s strategic growth and operational strengths in ACL Airshop rest squarely on the shoulders of leaders like Tony Morgan,” said Steve Townes, founder of Ranger Aerospace and CEO of Ranger Airshop Holdings. “It’s an honour to be his partner and colleague in this terrific enterprise.”
