WACO REP IN SRI LANKA LAUNCHES NEW DIVISION

Ace Cargo Ltd, The WACO System’s representative in Sri Lanka, has launched a division specializing in packaging, removals and relocations by air and sea freight.

 

According to Ace Cargo, the new division will be headed by Chandana Jirasinha, assistant vice president, and adds to a range of freight forwarding services already offered by the company within Sri Lanka and beyond, for sectors including tea, garments, telecoms and perishables.

 

“Sri Lanka is a very important region, acting as a transhipment hub for the Indian subcontinent and regarded as the southernmost gateway to Africa, the Middle East and East Asia,” said Jirasinha. “Our expertise and knowledge of the Sri Lankan market is unparalleled, and we are delighted to be expanding our service offerings here, which will be of great benefit to fellow The WACO System members wanting to conduct business in this country.”

 

The new division is based in Colombo and will offer services such as personal effects storage, warehousing of project cargo and commercial goods, packing and crating of personal effects and household goods, and palletizing commercial cargo.

 

Ace Cargo was established in 1980. The firm employs 330 people and has 19 branch offices in Sri Lanka, with other branches in Bangladesh, Myanmar and the Maldives.

 

The company’s range of logistics and supply chain services includes domestic and international courier, brokerage, customs clearance, project cargo and inventory management.
