UNITED CARGO BEGINS ACCEPTING EVO COLD CHAIN 2.0
September 7, 2018

United Cargo has begun accepting Savsu Technologies’ evo Cold Chain 2.0 system.

According to United, evo Cold Chain 2.0 will further enhance the carrier’s own TempControl service for the temperature-controlled transport of pharmaceuticals and other life science material, as well as the LifeGuard service for same-day delivery of highest-priority medical shipments.

“The goal of expanding our customers’ options for packaging and transport systems is to ensure our services remain as relevant and valuable as possible,” said Jan Krems, president of United Cargo. “Combining the elevated care and expedited priority of our TempControl and LifeGuard services with the proven thermal stability and dynamic data monitoring and visibility of evo Cold Chain 2.0 meets the needs of shippers of the most fragile and precious live material.”

The evo Cold Chain 2.0 system was designed specifically for the transport of live cells used in biotechnology and precision medicine applications. The fully integrated system allows visibility of live cells between patient and manufacturing facility.

“We are thrilled to participate in United Cargo’s TempControl and LifeGuard programmes,” said Bruce McCormick, president of Savsu Technologies. “The lean outer packaging of Savsu’s durable, high-performance shipping containers will optimize United’s network for advanced therapy and speciality courier clients by making transport available on both widebody and narrowbody aircraft.”

The evo system keeps monitoring conditions from the time the cells are packed for transport until the package is opened by the recipient and automatically generates a trip report after the journey, according to Savsu.
