According to the carrier, the devices will enable customers to track their cargo more precisely at their convenience. The trackers will be placed in their shipment before acceptance and taken out again after delivery at the final destination.

“Our aim is to support our customers in using end-to-end tracking solutions throughout the journey of their shipment,” said Christophe Boucher, senior vice president of sale and distribution at Air France KLM Martinair Cargo. “This forms part of our digital journey, expressed in the services we wish to offer our customers.”

The tracking devices are capable of providing information such as GPS location, temperature, humidity, shock or tilt and light data, and can send it through telecom networks.

Three devices are currently approved, according to the carrier.
