JETTAINER AND CORE BEGIN STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP
October 17, 2018

Jettainer and CORE Transport Technologies have entered into a strategic partnership for the tracking of air cargo containers and pallets.

According to Jettainer, the Bluetooth-based COREInsight tracking solution will be used on all the containers and pallets of the outsourced ULD management provider, allowing Jettainer to streamline its ground processes at customer airlines and enable fully automated inventories.

“The integration of the CORE tracking solution allows us to further increase efficiency through improvements in inventory management on the ground for airline customers,” said Carsten Hernig, managing director of Jettainer. “The fact that the geolocation of our ULD fleet is further improved at the same time is a nice side effect. The decisive factor for us, however, was the possibilities for process improvements on the ground.”

The Bluetooth tags can be retrofitted without additional certification of the ULDs, and are automatically recorded and evaluated by readers installed at airports. It will no longer be necessary to scan by hand or to intervene in any other way.

“Our Bluetooth solution was initially designed as a simple tracking solution for ULD inventories,” said Ian Craig, CEO of CORE. “But when we implemented the system at the major airlines in 2017, it quickly became clear that the large amount of data and the ability to analyze ULD movements would bring many benefits to airlines and their customers. I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with Jettainer. With the expertise and experience of the leader in ULD management, we will be able to continue to improve our products.”
