Amazon has taken delivery of its 40th Boeing 767F.

“Our delivery of 20 aircraft to Amazon over the last 28 months is a significant achievement,” said William J. Flynn, president and chief executive officer of Atlas Air. “It is an accomplishment that we are very proud of and for which our employees worked hard. We appreciate Amazon's confidence in our capabilities, global scale and operating excellence. E-commerce is the fastest-growing air cargo segment, and we are excited to continue our partnership with Amazon as it delivers innovative service to its customers.”

The aircraft, registered N1487A, has been given the name Valor by Amazon in honour of the company’s military community. It is already in service flying across the Amazon Air domestic network ahead of the peak holiday season.

Amazon and Atlas Air entered into long-term commercial agreements in 2016, under which Atlas Air’s leasing subsidiary Titan Aviation would dry lease 20 767-300 converted freighters to Amazon for 10 years while Atlas Air would operate the planes on a CMI basis.

Amazon also has another 20 767Fs on lease from and operated by Air Transport Services Group.
