MAB KARGO SELECTS UNISYS LOGISTICS SOLUTIONS
February 13, 2019

MAB Kargo Sdn Bhd has selected Unisys Corporation to help further enhance the digital transformation of its business with two digital logistics solutions.

According to Unisys, the two secure, cloud-based solutions will make the airline’s cargo services available to a wider global freight market and provide customers with visibility across the shipment lifecycle.

Under a five-year engagement signed in November 2018, MAB Kargo will join the Unisys Digi-Portal e-commerce platform to promote its inventory to a community of more than 25,000 buyers at forwarders, airlines, general sales agents and handlers across over 140 countries. The carrier will also use Unisys Digi-IQ to track, report and measure shipments.

“The advanced analytics in Digi-IQ will enable MASkargo to identify early exception warnings so that they can take proactive measures to avoid service disruptions, and provide high service standards for the airline’s freight clients,” said Dheeraj Kohli, vice president and global head of travel and transportation at Unisys. “Additionally, Digi-Portal will help MASkargo optimize air cargo capacity with the agility to quickly offer promotions that take advantage of dynamic market opportunities.”

Digi-IQ automatically builds a route map for each shipment based on origin, destination, product, station operating hours, aircraft types and other factors. It then uses continuous monitoring in real time to track each shipment against key route map milestones with pre-alerts, advance notifications and early exception warnings based on configuration options, alerting operators to any actual or potential delays.

“Kuala Lumpur is a vital and growing cargo transit hub for Asia,” said Ibrahim Mohamed Salleh, CEO of MAB Kargo. “Using Unisys Digi-Portal we will be able to reach an even wider market of forwarders and shippers with an easy-to-use and secure online booking tool. Digi-IQ will provide us and our customers with greater visibility of their supply chain via real-time continuous monitoring of shipments tracked against key milestones. This will also help us identify and forecast potential service disruptions and take proactive measures to address them in advance. This will help us to provide a better service and reliability for our customers.”

MAB Kargo handles more than 30 customer airlines at its Advanced Cargo Centre, processing more than 800,000 air waybills per year. The carrier has used the Unisys Digistics cloud-based logistics management system to manage its domestic and international cargo services since 2016.
