TURKISH CARGO TRANSPORTS FIRST SHIPMENT FROM NEW ISTANBUL AIRPORT

Turkish Cargo has carried out the first air cargo transportation from the new Istanbul Airport.

 

According to the carrier, the first domestic shipment was transported on an Airbus A321 to Ankara, while the first international shipment was carried on a Boeing 737 to North Nicosia.

Turkish Cargo is due to carry out full belly cargo operations at the new airport when all passenger flights are transferred from Ataturk Airport on March 2, 2019, but will retain its freighter operations at Ataturk.

 

During the first phase of the new airport, Turkish will operate on an area of 165,000 square metres and will have a handling capacity of 4 million tons once all phases are completed and the carrier moves its entire cargo operation to theMega Cargo Hub.

 

Turkish Cargo’s network covers 124 countries around the world.
