SAUDIA CARGO AND KING ABDULLAH PORT SIGN COLLABORATION AGREEMENT

Saudi Airlines Cargo Company and King Abdullah Port have signed a joint agreement to enhance collaboration opportunities and establish a secure logistics operations zone.

 

According to Saudia, the agreement covers aspects including transportation, logistics operations, and supply and information exchange. It will establish an air-sea-air cargo corridor to ensure that cargo can flow smoothly between the seaport and airports in the surrounding area.

 

The development is part of the Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to turn the country into an international logistics hub.

“The agreement plays a pivotal role in the flow and the transportation of cargo from the port to the Saudia Cargo station at King Abdulaziz International Airport and vice versa,” said Omar Hariri [left in photo], CEO of Saudia Cargo. “We recognize the importance of King Abdullah Port’s contribution to strengthening and enhancing the Kingdom’s regional and international role in logistical and supply chain services. We will work side by side with our partners to ensure optimum coordination and productivity.”

 

King Abdullah Port is located in King Abdullah Economic City, approximately 90 km north of Jeddah, and is the first privately owned and operated port in Saudi Arabia.

 

Saudia Cargo offers a range of logistics services through a dedicated freighter fleet as well as belly capacity on passenger flights operated by Saudia.
