UGANDA AIRLINES BACK IN THE SKIES AFTER 20 YEARS
August 28, 2019

Uganda Airlines has relaunched its operations after 19 years, restoring its status as the country's national carrier.

The airline made an inaugural flight from Entebbe, Uganda, to neighboring Nairobi, Kenya, on August 27 after being liquidated in 2001.

The airline said full commercial operations will start on August 28.

Uganda Airlines will initially fly to seven destinations in Kenya, Somalia, Tanzania, South Sudan and Burundi.

It received its first two CRJ900 planes from Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier in April and two more of those planes are expected in October. The carrier will receive two A330neo aircraft by the end of 2020.
