HMM 20,000+ TEU VESSEL DEPLOYMENT PROGRAMME REVEALED

Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) has revealed the delivery programme and service deployment of all 12 new 20,000+ TEU vessels being built at Daewoo (seven vessels), and Samsung (five vessels).

 

All 12 vessels, acknowledged as the largest containership yet built, will be operated within The Alliance’s (Hapag-Lloyd, Ocean Network Express, Yang Ming and HMM) Asia-North Europe service network.

 

The exact details regarding service deployment and phase in dates up until mid-September, when the last of the 12 vessels are as follows, with deployment phase in dates shown in brackets.

 

FE2 service details with phase in dates at first port as follows: (four vessels)

HMM Oslo (May 12); HMM Copenhagen (May 26); HMM Dublin (June 3); HMM Southampton (August 1). Present port rotation: Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Singapore, (Suez), Rotterdam, Southampton, Le Havre, Hamburg, Rotterdam, (Suez), Singapore and Busan.

 

FE3 service details with phase in dates at first port as follows: (seven vessels)

HMM Gdansk (July 1); HMM Rotterdam (July 8); HMM Hamburg (July 29); HMM Helsinki (August 11); HMM Stockholm(August 19); HMM Le Havre (September 2); HMM St Petersburg (September 16). Present port rotation: Hong Kong, Xiamen, Yantian, (Suez), Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Southampton, (Suez), Jebel Ali, Singapore, Yantian and Hong Kong.

 

FE4 service details with phase in date at first port already undertaken, as follows: (one vessel)

HMM Algeciras (April 26). Port rotation: Qingdao, Busan, Ningbo, Shanghai, Yantian, (Suez), Algeciras, Rotterdam, Antwerp, London Gateway, Algeciras, (Suez), Singapore and Qingdao.

 

A series of service changes have been confirmed for the second half of 2020 by member lines of The Alliance. On the Asia-North Europe trades, FE4 and FE2 services will remain merged until the end of September, and the merged service will transit Cape of Good Hope on the eastbound route during the third quarter 2020. During the third quarter, direct port coverage will be: Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Singapore, (Suez), Rotterdam, Southampton, Le Havre, Hamburg, Rotterdam, (Cape of Good Hope), Singapore and Busan.

 

The FE3 service will extend direct calling in central China from July to September and offer the following coverage: Ningbo (additional call), Shanghai (additional call), Xiamen, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Yantian, (Suez), Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, London Gateway, (Suez), Jebel Ali, Singapore, Yantian, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung and Ningbo.
