Lufthansa Cargo has launched its 2026 summer flight schedule with a stronger focus on Asia and the transpacific market, adding capacity across its freighter fleet and the wider Lufthansa Group network.
The programme, effective since 29 March, includes 87 weekly Boeing 777F flights to up to 35 destinations worldwide, supported by expanded bellyhold capacity across group airlines.
The carrier will operate up to 48 weekly connections to 17 destinations in Asia, reflecting the region’s continued importance for global trade. Its transpacific rotation from Ho Chi Minh City via Shanghai to Los Angeles will increase to two weekly frequencies in the coming months.
Lufthansa Cargo said it remains the only carrier offering main‑deck capacity from Vietnam to China on this route.
Delhi will also return to the freighter network in May with one weekly service, bringing the Indian market to six weekly connections.
Links to the Americas will total 33 weekly flights to 11 destinations in North America and four in South America, including an additional frequency to Toronto.
Short‑ and medium‑haul capacity has also been expanded. Since February, the carrier’s four A321F freighters have been serving Rome and Algiers once a week, contributing to 33 intra‑European and Africa connections routed through Frankfurt and Munich.
Lufthansa Cargo will also soon offer customers access to six European hubs — Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, Brussels, Rome and, shortly, Zurich — through its cooperation with SWISS WorldCargo. The partnership enables aligned products and services and one of the densest cargo networks in Europe.
Customers also gain access to bellyhold capacity across the Lufthansa Group, now including Lufthansa City Airlines.
Several long‑haul routes operated by Lufthansa Airlines from Frankfurt will see increased frequencies this summer, including St. Louis, Cape Town, Rio de Janeiro, Raleigh/Durham and Nairobi. Washington will be served twice daily, while Minneapolis returns with three weekly flights from April. Munich will maintain three weekly flights to São Paulo and Johannesburg.
Additional network adjustments across group carriers include ITA Airways’ two daily flights to London Heathrow, Brussels Airlines' new twice‑weekly service to Kilimanjaro and increased frequencies to Freetown, Discover Airlines' year‑round Seychelles service and expanded Las Vegas schedule, and Austrian Airlines' daily flights to Los Angeles and Tokyo‑Narita.
SunExpress will also grow its presence in the German and UK markets.
"Our soon‑to‑be six hubs in Europe enable one of the densest networks in our industry on the continent. Together with our own freighter fleet and the belly capacity within the Lufthansa Group, this not only means enormous flexibility for our customers, but also reliability and even faster transports of shipments," said Ashwin Bhat, CEO of Lufthansa Cargo.
"Lufthansa Cargo is already the home freight carrier in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, and Austria. This enables further growth in the global air freight market in line with our mission of 'Enabling Global Business'."
In total, Lufthansa Cargo markets the belly capacity of up to 7,500 weekly flights to more than 350 destinations operated by Lufthansa Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Discover Airlines, ITA Airways, Lufthansa City Airlines and SunExpress.
