ETIHAD CARGO RECEIVES 10TH FREIGHTER

Etihad Cargo has taken delivery of its fifth Airbus A330-200F, its 10th freighter aircraft overall.

The carrier launched 10 freighter routes and transported 602,026 tonnes of cargo in 2016.

“If you think about where we started and when I came in 2006, the airline turned over US$300 million,” said James Hogan, president and CEO of the Etihad Aviation Group, speaking  giving the welcome address at the 11th IATA World Cargo Symposium in Abu Dhabi. “Today, the cargo business in its own right is a business that generates in excess of US$1 billion.”

Etihad now has a freighter fleet of five A330-200Fs and five Boeing 777Fs, with another 777F scheduled to arrive in 2018.
