“We are delighted to introduce our newest aircraft on Gulf Air’s London Heathrow route,” said Waleed Abdulhameed Al Alawi, deputy chief executive officer of Gulf Air. “With five Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft entering our fleet in 2018, an additional two arriving by end 2019 and three arriving by end 2020, Gulf Air’s Dreamliner orders will ensure we maintain one of the youngest fleets in the region while building upon our award-winning reliability, on-time performance and product and service standards.”

Gulf Air is using the new 787s to replace its six Airbus A330-200s and currently has two in its fleet. The national carrier also expects to take delivery of two A320neos by the end of the year.

Boeing delivered Gulf Air’s first 787-9 in April 2018.
