Delta Cargo has begun offering the new CSafe RAP container for cold-chain pharma customers.

According to the carrier, the high-performance temperature-controlled air cargo container is ideal for pharmaceutical and life-science companies requiring strict temperature regulations to protect its contents from operational and weather challenges during shipments to patients around the world.

The CSafe RAP container utilizes heating and compressor-driven cooling technologies to maintain constant temperatures even at extreme ambient temperatures ranging from -30°C to +54°C. The payload compartment can accommodate up to four standard US pallets or five standard Euro pallets, and the container has an extended battery life of over 120 hours.

Delta received the International Air Transport Association’s Center of Excellence for Indepdent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics certification last year for its Atlanta warehouse and headquarters. The airline currently has 50 approved pharma stations around the globe, with seven CEIV-approved facilities in Europe and one in Asia.
