Qatar Airways Cargo is launching its first Japan freight service starting January 15.
The twice-weekly service to Kansai International Airport (KIX) will utilize its Boeing 777 freighters, with a maximum load capacity of 103 tonnes. It will be operating the Doha - Kansai - Hong Kong loop, scheduled to operate in the Japanese gateway every Wednesdays and Saturdays.
"For Qatar’s flag carrier based at Hamad International Airport, this will be the very first cargo flight operation to Japan," Kansai International Airport said in a statement.
The airport operator also noted that Qatar Airways is also scheduled to relaunch its passenger services between KIX and Doha in April 2020 for the first time in four years.
"Kansai Airports will continue to expand its cargo carrier network for the greater convenience of cargo owners and freighters while striving to contribute to the economic development of Kansai and destination cities," it added.
