Malaysia Airlines announced it will launch a delayed joint business partnership with Japan Airlines on July 25 where the two carriers will cooperate commercially on flights between Malaysia and Japan.
The carriers will offer a combined four times weekly service between Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo Narita between July and August — further enhancing flight convenience between Japan and Malaysia and allow customers to benefit from more flight choices.
“I am excited that the joint business is finally taking off after a few months of delay due to travel restrictions between both countries. We look forward to the bilateral discussions between the governments of Malaysia and Japan to establish a travel bubble between the two countries,” said Malaysia Airlines Group CEO Izham Ismail.
He noted that this would play a “crucial role” in reviving the economy will "facilitate commerce, trade and boost tourism for both countries."
This initiative will also enable Malaysian Airlines and Japan Airlines to enhance their capabilities, and leverage each other’s strengths.
