CHINA CIVIL AVIATION REPORTS FREIGHTER CARGO VOLUMES UP 20% IN JULY

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has reported that freighter cargo volumes have expanded 20% in July despite a noted downturn in both passenger and cargo traffic for the month.

As part of its traffic highlights for July, CAAC said passenger volume was at 39.1 million, recording a decline of 34.1% year-on-year and cargo traffic also dropped by 10.4% to 552,000 tonnes during the period.

 

Freighter cargo was at 229,000 tonnes, expanding by 20.4% in July.

 

Meanwhile, CAAC said the number of flights in China also declined by 30.3% or 370,000 for 11,941 daily flights.

 

Flight hours in July was at 777,000, also posting a 28.6% decline.
