ONE, MAERSK, MSC TO KEEP CHINA – AUSTRALIA SERVICE SUSPENSION UNTIL YEAR END
Ocean Network Express (ONE), Maersk Line and MSC have announced the extended suspension of their China – Australia (CAE) service through the end of 2020 which was suspended in April due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
The lines said in June that operation for the route would not return until at least the end of September.
In a brief advisory ONE said that the suspension of the CAE service was now expected to continue "at least" through the end of the year.
“Ocean Network Express would like to update you regarding extension of the China Australia service (CAE) suspension, which is jointly operated with Maersk and MSC. This suspension is expected to last at least until end of December 2020,” ONE said.
“To assist customers during this exceptional time, alternative cover of the CAE ports is provided by inducing a Hong Kong call to the North East Asia Australia (AUN) Service, also jointly operated with the same consortia – Maersk and MSC,” it added.
