Bolloré Logistics said it is furthering the expansion of its Healthcare & Life Sciences operations with the appointment of a Global Director, Healthcare.

In a statement, it said Robert Donnell, a renowned expert with in-depth knowledge of the healthcare industry, was appointed for the role. He has over 20 years of experience in the sector.

Based in the UK, he will report directly to Eric Sanchez, Senior VP Global Development.

"Robert Donnell started his career at Procter & Gamble and AstraZeneca before moving to Supply Chain service providers working with pharma and biotech companies to design and implement innovative global supply chain solutions," Bolloré said.

In his new position at Bolloré Logistics, Donnell will be responsible for leading the company’s global development in the healthcare sector, establishing both its strategy and action plan and managing a team of regional Healthcare & Life Sciences leads to deliver the business.

“Bolloré Logistics has a broad range of services for the healthcare sector, in compliance with Good Distribution Practices and with strong expertise in international controlled-temperature transport and dedicated platform logistics. I am proud to be joining a high-performance team to contribute my experience, take up today’s key challenges and propose innovative and effective solutions,” Donnell commented.

The new appointment follows that of Jill Cross as senior regional head of Pharma Healthcare for the Americas region a few weeks earlier.

With more than 15 years of experience in logistics and having spent the last five years in the healthcare logistics industry, Jill Cross has an extensive track record in the sector.

Her previous positions include Global Accounts Director for Pharma and Consumer accounts at Kuehne + Nagel and Trade Lane Manager USA/UK at DB Schenker. Jill is based in New Jersey, USA, reporting to Marc Sawaya, VP Sales at Bolloré Logistics America.

Bolloré said the arrival of Donnell and Cross will consolidate the structure of Bolloré Logistics’ Healthcare teams on the five continents and supplement the coverage of the teams already established in Europe under the management of Brice Bellin, director of Healthcare & Life Sciences, Europe, at Bolloré Logistics, as well as those in the AsiaPacific and the Middle East/South East Asia.
