QATAR AIRWAYS CARGO ADDS CAPACITY IN THE US TO BOOKING PLATFORM WEBCARGO

Qatar Airways Cargo is continuing the rollout of its capacity through the e-booking platform, WebCargo, adding the United States to the list starting July 19.

In a statement, the cargo carrier noted that forwarders in the US will be able to conduct e-bookings with access to live rates and available capacity on the WebCargo platform.

It added that bookings will be applicable from Qatar Airway's Cargo online points in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington DC.

The cargo carrier noted that it has an extensive network in the United States spanning 12 cities with 145 weekly flights —  offering its customers more than 4,700 tonnes of cargo capacity every week.

“Following our successful launch across Europe, we are glad to introduce WebCargo throughout the United States of America, steadily extending digitalization across our organization. We are actively pushing for digitalization in air freight as it brings in efficiencies and provides multiple benefits for our customers such as 24/7 visibility of price and capacity as well as real-time confirmation to name a few,” said Qatar Airways chief officer cargo, Guillaume Halleux.

Freightos Group CEO Zvi Schreiber noted that in the past year, the platform has seen 2,000%+ growth in bookings.

Since the introduction of WebCargo in February 2021, Qatar Airways Cargo noted that it has been receiving high volumes of e-bookings via the platform.

With this launch in the US, the total count of countries in the airline’s network on the WebCargo platform will increase to 33, with 12 online stations going live in the US.
