DSV is boosting its airfreight operation between the US and Brazil with a new service amid rising demand.

The freight forwarder partnered with Atlas Air to offer a B747-400 freighter service from Miami in the US to Sao Paolo under a 12-month deal.

The service is not part of the Globetrotter operation that it recently launched but would rather boost its Brazillian Wings charter operation, which flies four-times-per-week from Miami to Sao Paolo Viracopos – Campinas International Airport (VCP).

"We are adding a new Americas one-way route from Miami (MIA) to Sao Paolo (VCP) to the DSV Charter Network to accommodate the red-hot market in South America and to bring as much flexibility into our air cargo offerings as we can in these tight capacity markets," said Mads Ravn, vice president, air and sea, DSV.

"We are experiencing a high level of demand for our existing air charter route, the Brazilian Wings, so the strategic rationale for us behind the addition is obvious,” Ravn added.

DSV announced in September the launched of its Globetrotter operation, adding a call at Shanghai PVG after some easing of Covid-19 related congestion at the major Chinese gateway.
