Polar Air Cargo has picked Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) to provide long-term, cargo handling services for its operations at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
As of December 2021, WFS has providing full warehouse handling services for the more than five million kilos (5,000 tonnes) of cargo carried each month by Polar’s all-Boeing freighter fleet ex-LAX.
Prior to this, WFS already provides handling services to Polar Air Cargo at its hub in Cincinnati, as well as in Dallas/Fort Worth, Miami, New York JFK, Seattle and Toronto airports.
"Our partnership with Polar Air Cargo is strategically important to WFS in North America, and globally. We are proud to be winning new station contracts on the strength of our performance at other major airports across Polar’s network," said Guido DiGiandomenico, vice president of Sales for WFS in North America. "We look forward to supporting Polar’s continued growth at this very important west coast gateway."
WFS currently manages 235,000 sq ft of warehouse space at LAX.
WFS’ general cargo handling volumes in Los Angeles now exceed 22 million kilos (22,000 tonnes) per month.
