HONG KONG PORT 2015 THROUGHPUT DROPS TO 13-YEAR LOW

The port of Hong Kong has posted an annual throughput which has not been seen in 13 years, according to provisional statistics released by the Hong Kong Port Development Council.

 

In 2015, the port handled a total of 20,080,000 TEUs, a drop of 9.7% compared to 2014. This figure is the lowest recorded since 2002.

 

A monthly breakdown also shows that the port’s throughput has been on the decline since July 2014.
