DP World and Dubai Police have signed a memorandum of understanding to improve safety and security cooperation at Jebel Ali Port and the surrounding industrial area.
“Building a safe, secure and resilient port community is part of our commitment to customers and port users,” said Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, group chairman and CEO of DP World [centre in photo]. “Dubai Police are one of the most professional security forces and our strategic partnership with them will raise efficiency at our facilities for the benefit of the business community.”
Under the agreement, DP World and Dubai Police will set up a joint committee to identify safety and security issues, recommend solutions and find ways to implement them.
“DP World and its flagship Jebel Ali Port is a hub of regional trade and the world-class infrastructure plays an important role in attracting businesses from around the world,” said Khamis Matar Al Muzainah, commandant general of Dubai Police [left in photo]. “The agreement aims to enhance joint security action in this important pillar of Dubai’s economy benefitting the companies and organisations that use its services.”
The agreement also includes measures to reduce accidents and to tackle road congestion, joint workshops, training programmes, emergency response drills and traffic awareness campaigns, according to DP World.
