Turkish Airlines has implemented changes to its top leadership and announced two long‑serving executives to steer the carrier's next phase of growth. In the management reshuffle, the airline appointed Prof. Murat Şeker—its longtime chief financial officer (CFO) —as Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee, while Ahmet Olmuştur, formerly chief commercial officer (CCO), has been named the company's new Chief Executive Officer.
The Turkish flag carrier said the move is in line with the airline's corporate objectives.
Şeker has served in critical roles such as finance, treasury, and investor relations positions as CFO at Turkish Airlines since July 2016.
He has served as Member of the Board and the Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines from March 2021. He also serves as a Board Member of Turkish Technic and SunExpress.
Şeker has also been a member of the Financial Advisory Council established by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) since 2024 and has served as its Chair since 2025, advising the IATA Board of Directors and all related bodies on policy issues related to financial sector services.
Between 2013 and 2016, Şeker worked at Ziraat Bank as senior Vice President of Financial Institutions and Investor Relations Department and as Economist at the World Bank from 2008 to 2013.

Meanwhile, Olmuştur, the newly-appointed CEO of Turkish Airlines was formerly responsible for the company's strategic sales and marketing operations as CCO since 2024. He also served as chief marketing and sales officer since 2014.
Olmuştur's career at Turkish Airlines began in 2000 as a part-time employee at Turkish Airlines Call Center. He then held various critical positions including Manager of Global Distribution Systems, Manager of Revenue Management and Pricing, and Senior Vice President of Revenue Management.
Turkish Airlines, the airline that flies to the most countries in the world and the national flag carrier of Türkiye, said it aims to further strengthen its leading position in global aviation with its new management structure, strong human resources, sustainable growth vision, and passenger-focused service approach.
