LH CARGO POSTS STABLE FREIGHT VOLUMES
July 10, 2015

Lufthansa Cargo has reported a 0.5% increase year-on-year in freight volumes over the first six months of 2015, having carried 811,000 tonnes of freight and mail.

“After an exceptionally good start to 2015, we were aware of the challenging market situation again in the second quarter,” said Peter Gerber, CEO and executive board chairman. “We are monitoring the market very carefully and can react by adjusting our routes flexibly and quickly to changes in demand. This allows us to meet the needs of our customers while at the same time guaranteeing the profitability of the individual connections.”

Freight volumes for the Asia-Pacific and Europe shrunk by 1.3% and 2.2% respectively, while the Americas grew by 3.9%. Africa and the Middle East also experienced a growth of 4.7%. The overall load factor was at 67.6%, a decrease of 2.5 percentage points compared to the same period last year.

Lufthansa Cargo’s full financial results for the first half of 2015 will be announced on July 31.
