DACHSER APPOINTS MANAGEMENT TEAMS FOR INDIAN SUBCONTINENT AND FAR EAST SOUTH CLUSTERS
October 3, 2018

Dachser has appointed management teams for its new Indian subcontinent and Far East South clusters.

According to the company, Huned Gandhi [left in first photo] has been appointed as managing director of air and sea logistics of the Indian subcontinent cluster, which was established in July 2018. He will oversee 540 employees and 18 locations across India and Bangladesh, and be responsible for developing dedicated services for defined industry segments such as life sciences and healthcare.

Gandhi is a supply chain specialist with extensive experience in sales and logistics. He joined Dachser in 2012 and established the company’s first office in Malaysia before relocating to India to become managing director of Dachser India Private Limited in 2014. He previously monitored Japan, Korea and Europe while serving as general manager of Western India at Airfreight Ltd., which became Dachser India in 2013 following a joint venture formed in 2007.

Additionally, Jude Crasto [right in first photo] has been appointed as managing director of air and sea logistics in Bangladesh, replacing Syed Sadaquat Hossain who retired at the end of June 2018. Crasto joined Dachser in January 2018, bringing with him 25 years of experience in sales, trade management and contract logistics. He previously headed a global logistics company in Bangladesh.

As for the Far East South cluster, which was established in August 2018, Kevin Chen [left in second photo] has been appointed as managing director of air and sea logistics, responsible for 477 employees and eight locations across Hong Kong, Taiwan and South China.

Chen was previously managing director of air and sea logistics in South China. He joined Dachser in 2003, when the company acquired Züst Ambrosetti Far East Ltd, and was promoted to general manager of South China that year. Under his supervision, the company’s South China business has grown to more than 200 staff members and six offices.

Jesper Larsen [right in second photo] has also been appointed as managing director of air and sea logistics in Hong Kong, effective August 13. He reports directly to Larsen and brings with him more than 20 years of experience in the logistics industry, most recently having served as general manager of an NVOCC in Hong Kong.

In addition, Dachser has appointed Nick Chen as managing director of air and sea logistics in Taiwan. He was most recently vice president of operations at an international logistics company in Taiwan before joining Dachser in March 2018.

The consolidation of the Hong Kong, Taiwan and South China markets into the Far East South cluster will provide new opportunities for cross-market synergies and sustainable expansion, as well as increased visibility and security for customers, according to Dachser.
