Kuehne + Nagel has rolled out zero-emission electric vehicles for island-wide delivery in Singapore.
According to Kuehne + Nagel, the new vehicles were added to the fleet as part of the company’s green initiative to provide its customers with an environmentally responsible transportation option while reducing its carbon footprint. Kuehne + Nagel has selected HUB Distributors, a local small-medium enterprise, as its logistics partner for the electric vehicles.
“We are proud to use EVs to reduce carbon emissions,” said Laurent Simon, managing director of Kuehne + Nagel Singapore and Malaysia. “This initiative aligns with the Singapore’s government vision of an environmentally friendly and self-sustainable transportation infrastructure while positioning us as a leader in green logistics. As a company, we are always looking at how we can improve sustainability and driving greener solutions is an important part of our approach to greater sustainability.”
Employees with hybrid or electric cars are encouraged to use the charging stations during the day, when the stations are not in use by the commercial vehicles, according to Kuehne + Nagel.
