Cargo IT solutions provider Global Logistics System (HK) Company Limited has appointed Electronic Freight Data Interchange Pvt. Ltd. to distribute and support its cargo community platform EzyCargo in India.

EFDI will provide sales and marketing functions to promote EzyCargo subscriptions to connect freight forwarders with multiple airlines for digital cargo data exchange.  A local service desk will be set up to provide sales and support services in the market. EFDI will also support local administration tasks on behalf of GLS Hong Kong.

“We recognize the vast potential for electronic messaging and digitization that a platform such as Ezycarg offers,” said Madhav Kulshreshtha, managing director of EFDI. “With our domain expertise and local knowledge, it would be a winning combination for the industry, given that the Indian government under the able leadership of our prime minister is also pressing for digitization.”

EzyCargo is a cloud-based application and which enables forwarders to make e-bookings,  carry out electronic air waybill data exchange, and track and trace consignment status over the internet or via host-to-host connections. There are currently close to 1,000 EzyCargo subscribers in India.
