“We are delighted to welcome the sixth Boeing 777 freighter to our fleet today,” said Harald Gloy, chief operations officer and member of the board at Lufthansa Cargo. “This aircraft is the quietest and most efficient in its class – and therefore the freighter of our choice for our ongoing fleet modernization.”

Lufthansa Cargo has a further brand-new 777F on order which is expected to be delivered this spring.

Two MD-11F aircraft will be withdrawn later this year, leaving Lufthansa Cargo with a fleet of seven 777Fs and 10 MD-11Fs.

The modernization of the fleet is due to be completed by 2025 at the latest, according to Lufthansa Cargo.
