CHINA EASTERN MODIFIES A330S FOR CARGO OPERATIONS
May 19, 2020
China Eastern Airlines announced it conducted modifications to 13 of its A330 passenger aircraft to increase cargo capacity as demand rises with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic pushing the need for more capacity out of China.
In a short notice published by the Centre for Aviation, it said eight of the 13 aircraft have already entered operation as of May 15.
The carrier also launched new cargo charter services in April 2020 including between Shenzhen and Los Angeles.
The Shanghai-based airline earlier announced plans to resume 70% to 80% of flights by the end of June and make further increases through August.
