UPS

UPS received its 17th B747-8 freighter recently to help meet the surge in the demand as peak season nears.

The multinational logistics company said 12 more of the same aircraft type are underway and three are due for delivery his year to help with peak season and as it moves to boost capacity on regional routes worldwide.

"Today, @UPS took delivery of its latest @BoeingAirplanes 747-8F aircraft N622UP. It will be available for its first revenue flight soon," the company said on September 4.

"This aircraft is UPS' 17th 747-8F, with three more deliveries expected this year to help with peak season."

The American logistics firm placed an order for 14 of such aircraft type in February 2018 as part of its efforts to grow its capacity.

UPS said then that the new freighters on order “will allow us to continue upsizing aircraft on routes and will create a cascading effect that will boost capacity on regional routes around the world.”
