EVA AIR CARGO REVENUE UP 150% IN JANUARY

EVA Air saw its cargo revenue continue to expand in the first month of the year signalling a sustained growth momentum for the segment even as its passenger revenue remains weak.

 

The Taiwanese carrier said its cargo revenue shoot up by 150% to TW$4802 million (US$171 million) in January, although its passenger revenue dropped 91.9% to TW$870.2 million (US$31.1 million) during the same period as travel restrictions continue to weigh on demand. 

 

According to its financial highlights, EVA Air saw its total revenue decline by 55.9% to TW$5980 million (US$214 million) year-on-year.

 

Meanwhile, the carrier reported that its passenger yield was up 191% to TW$6.67; while its cargo yield also expanded by 86.2% to TW$13.21.

 

Earlier, EVA Air said preparations to expand into cold chain logistics is underway with the anticipated surge in demand for the COVID-19 vaccine delivery.
