TAC Index announced the appointment of Gareth Sinclair, formerly of IAG Cargo, to its Board of Advisors.
In a statement, TAC Index — provider of general air cargo pricing to the market — said Gareth joined the TAC Index as an Advisor to the Board in the first quarter of 2021 shortly after commencing a consultancy practice offering Cargo Revenue Management, Pricing, and Analytics advice to airline, freight forwarder, and data management clients.
“I am extremely excited to be advising the TAC Index on their numerous market-leading products having experience of utilising the TAC Freight Air Cargo Pricing Index within a global airfreight business. Pricing data is at the forefront of air cargo data science developments, promising an exciting future for the TAC Index,” Sinclair said.
“As TAC works hard to bring increased transparency to the air cargo markets, having someone of Gareth's calibre joining our group of advisors is a very welcome and helpful development,” commented TAC's Managing Director, John Peyton Burnett.
“We have many additional enhancements under development, to complement our existing data sets and bring further analytical data to all interested parties, and Gareth's input will be very helpful as we do so,” Burnett added.
Gareth has worked in the airline industry for almost 30 years, starting with the British Airways Passenger Business in Financial & Commercial management roles, including time working overseas in New York.
In 2007 he joined British Airways World Cargo, driving significant transformation in Pricing and Revenue Management systems and processes as well as integrating the Iberia and Aer Lingus Revenue Management functions.
As Head of Revenue Management and Pricing for IAG Cargo, he introduced enhanced analytical capabilities, dynamic bid price vectors and commenced the move towards dynamic pricing.
