Ocean Network Express (ONE) has teamed up with United Container Services (UCS) for a specialized container facility at the Port of Hamburg.

In a statement, ONE said the new depot has a capacity of 4,000 TEU and a total area of 60,000 sqm, with 25 reefer plugs. It also has three reach stackers and three empty handlers — furnished with fully automated gates.

"Depot yard space in most European and African ports is being reduced and for that reason our strategy is to start long term partnerships with our most valued suppliers where we see opportunities," said Johan Pijpers of ONE (Europe) Ltd. 

"ONE is focused on providing best-in-class service to its customers while ensuring that ONE is set up for growth in one of the most important ports in Europe," he added.

The Hamburg facility follows the launch of ONE's specialized container depot in the Port of Rotterdam in 2019.
