LUFTHANSA ACHIEVES ISO14001 WORLDWIDE
January 12, 2016

Lufthansa Cargo has received the ISO14001 certification for all of its stations across the world.

The ISO14001 standard is awarded to companies or organizations that meet the criteria for an effective environmental management system.

“As an airline, we have a special responsibility to our environment,” said Karl-Rudolf Rupprecht, executive board member of operations at Lufthansa Cargo. “We live up to this responsibility through our ambitious environmental targets. For example, we want to reduce our specific CO2 emissions by 25 percent by 2020. Global certification of our environmental management system is another milestone in this. We are on the right track and won’t let up in our efforts.”

The carrier first obtained the certification for its Frankfurt hub in 2008. All of its German stations have been certified since 2010.
