"At Singapore Airlines, we are committed to the continued digitalization of all areas of our business. Through our partnership with cargo.one, we have the ability to offer our customers an enhanced online booking experience with greater speed, flexibility, and convenience. This is one of many steps that we are taking to provide a more seamless experience for our cargo customers," said Chin Yau Seng, senior vice president cargo, Singapore Airlines.

For his part, Moritz Claussen, founder & Co-CEO of cargo.one welcomed the partnership with Singapore Airlines.

"We are proud to partner with Singapore Airlines Cargo globally and bring its excellent cargo services to cargo.one users. Both companies share a strong motivation to continually raise standards and efficiencies in all aspects of cargo booking," Claussen said. "Among many aspects, Singapore Airlines Cargo brings to the table invaluable Asia market insights."

cargo.one noted that through the deal, airlines can leverage the real time data feeds and market insights and benchmarks from cargo.one360 - its data and analytics solution which "greatly helps airlines to understand customer choice data and improve revenue management and pricing."

cargo.one said to bolster its support for airlines in the region, it has recently appointed Fabrice Godeau as vice president airlines, Asia Pacific.

In the first phase, from July 2022 freight forwarders will have access to Singapore Airlines Cargo’s capacity using the cargo.one marketplace. The partnership provides cargo.one users with additional access to sought-after Asian destinations such as Singapore, Bangkok, Shanghai, and Manila.

Singapore Airlines cargo serves over 90 destinations with a fleet of seven Boeing 747-400F freighter aircraft. In the first half of FY2021/22, SIA's cargo flown revenue grew by 51.2% to a record S$1,875 million.

It noted that the strong performance reflected the capacity crunch in air freight and ocean freight, as well as ongoing supply chain disruptions that continue to drive the demand for air freight.

Meanwhile, the SIA Group aims to further expand its cargo capabilities, capitalizing on healthy demand fueled by growth in e-commerce, fresh produce, and pharmaceuticals, among other segments.
