BOLLORÉ TO OPEN NEW ABIDJAN AIRPORT LOGISTICS FACILITY

Bolloré Transport & Logistics Cote d’Ivoire announced that it will open a new logistics facility close to Abidjan airport in West Africa in September this year.

 

The facility has a total area of 9,000 sq metres (sqm) designed to strengthen the company's offer of services linked to the import and export of goods by air, this new infrastructure will have required 18 months of work.

With an investment of 3.4 billion CFA francs (US$5.61 million), the facility will also include a 7,500 sqm operating area and 1,500 sqm of office space. It will also feature a 3,500 sqm warehouse with equipment such as a weighbridge, a dock leveler, a palletization system, and also a cold room.

 

Regional logistics hub target

 

"This investment is part of the structuring projects to which we have been committed for several years, aiming at modernising the logistics infrastructure in Côte d’Ivoire," said Joël Hounsinou, managing director of Bolloré Transport & Logistics Côte d’Ivoire.

 

"Two years on from the inauguration of Aérohub, we are preparing to bring a modern infrastructure into operation that will enable us to meet the growing needs of our customers and strengthen our role as a regional logistics hub," Hounsinou added.

 

Aside from this, Bolloré is also looking to further developments to facilitate the packaging of pharmaceutical goods as well as offering value-added storage for all types of freight, including perishable goods.
