OOCL announced that it is launching a brand-new A3 Express Loop (A3X) to offer an express loop between China and Australia.

The shipping line said the new service will be linking Shanghai, Shekou, Brisbane, and Sydney to provide a comprehensive port coverage to/from North-East Asia into Australia's east coast in addition to OOCL's existing A3N, A3C, and A3S services.

The new A3X route will follow the Shanghai – Shekou – Brisbane – Sydney – Shanghai rotation.

OOCL said the transit time is 18 days from Brisbane to Shanghai and 22 for Brisbane to Shekou. It will be 14 days from Sydney to Shanghai and 18 days to Shekou. 

Meanwhile, it will take 14 days from Shanghai to Brisbane and 17 days to Sydney. It will take 10 days between Shekou to Brisbane and 13 days to Sydney.

OOCL said the first sailing will begin from Shanghai with the ETD on May 31.
