THE ALLIANCE ANNOUNCES TRANSPACIFIC-NORTH WEST COAST CHANGE
September 20, 2023

THE Alliance has announced more changes to its Transpacific-West Coast operations, reflecting current market dynamics.

In a statement, THE Alliance — which consists of Hapag-Lloyd, ONE,  HMM, and Ming — said it will make changes to the Asia to Transpacific-North West Coast Network by temporarily suspending the PN3 service and enhancing the existing PN2 service as of week 41 until further notice.

It said that this is "in consideration of the present market situation."

THE Alliance noted that the following change should ensure that customers continue to receive frequent and comprehensive service coverage.

The announcement said PN3 would be suspended until further notice.

Meanwhile, PN2 will be enhanced with added port call and rotation change to follow: Singapore – Laem Chabang – Cai Mep – Haiphong – Yantian – Yangshan (new) – Pusan (new) - Vancouver – Tacoma – Tokyo - Kobe – Kaohsiung (new) – Hong Kong (new) - Singapore rotation.

THE Alliance said the effective sailings of the change would be from October 12 in Singapore for PN2 and October 8 in Hong Kong for PN3.

In July, the shipping alliance already announced some Transpacific-West Coast service changes.

It said then that THE Alliance is temporarily suspending the PS5 service and enhancing the existing PS3, PS6, and PS7 service — with the changes to take effect as of August and until further notice.

It said that PS5 would be "suspended until further notice" and  PS3 service would be enhanced with a Tokyo call.
