Jettainer announced that Dr Jan-Wilhelm Breithaupt had been the new chief executive officer of the Unit Load Device (ULD) management company since June 1, 2024.
He replaced Thomas Sonntag, who is leaving the Lufthansa Group at his own request on July 1.
During the air cargo China conference, Jettainer said Sonntag shared the past and future developments of the ULD management services as it marked its 20th anniversary this year.
"The experienced air cargo executive, Dr Jan-Wilhelm Breithaupt, was most recently responsible for global fulfilment management at Lufthansa Cargo and is therefore well acquainted with Jettainer's professional ULD management services from the customer side," the announcement said.
It also noted Breithaupt's proven track record of leading digitalization initiatives within the Lufthansa Group, such as Mobile Boarding Pass, 100% electronic Airway Bill and ONE Record.
He also thanked Thomas Sonntag for his achievements as CEO since 2019.
"With a great team and a worldwide network, Jettainer is very well positioned in the global market. We will now continue to drive forward digital transformation and further improve the efficiency of our services for our global customers," Breithaupt said.
