TURKISH AIRLINES TAPS WFS FOR GROUND HANDLING CONTRACT IN DENVER
August 5, 2024

Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), a member of the SATS Group, has won a three-year contract from Turkish Airlines for ramp handling and cabin cleaning services at Denver International Airport in Colorado, United States.

The contract aligns with the launch of Turkish Airlines' 14th destination in the United States.

Türkiye's flag carrier began operations to Denver in June 2024 with three weekly flights, increasing to four weekly flights in July. Between Istanbul and Denver, the airline uses Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 airliners.

In a statement, WFS said under the contract, it will provide a range of comprehensive services for Turkish Airlines at Denver International Airport. These include ramp, aircraft pushback, baggage handling, cargo loading/unloading, airside cargo transportation to and from the aircraft, and cabin cleaning.

"Denver is an important and growing market, which is attracting more international and domestic airline operators. WFS is benefiting from this growth and, as an established provider of high-quality ground handling services at the airport for over 30 years, becoming the first choice handling partner for airlines starting flights to Colorado's capital city," said Paul Walton, SVP of Ground Handling for the Americas at WFS.

WFS already provides ground handling services for Turkish Airlines in Chicago and now provides ground handling for 21 airlines in Denver, managing over 9,000 aircraft turns annually.

Denver is one of 81 stations operated by WFS Americas in key cities in the US and Canada — integral to the SAT Group's network of over 215 stations in 27 countries.
