The Port of Oakland has appointed Cestra Butner as president of its governing board.
According to the port, Butner succeeds Joan Story, who will remain on the board.
The board has also elected Andreas Cluver as first vice president and Michael Colbruno as second vice president. All three officers take over their new roles on July 26, 2018.
“I appreciate the support of my colleagues on the board and I’m eager to continue serving the port,” Butner said. “We’ll work with the staff to grow the port’s business for the benefit of our community.”
This will be Butner’s second term as president. He previously held the role from July 2013 to July 2014. He has been the board’s first vice president for the past year.
Butner is the founder of Oakland-based Horizon Beverage and has served on the boards of the East Bay YMCA and the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. He joined the Port of Oakland’s board in 2012.
