CARGOLUX RENEWS PHARMA GDP CERTIFICATION

Cargolux Airlines has successfully passed its GDP (Good Distribution Practice) renewal audit for its pharma handling capabilities.

The full re-certification attests that the company’s management system fulfils the requirements of the EU directive ‘Guidelines on Good Distribution Practice of Medicinal Products for Human Use’ and of WHO guidelines.

The GDP label also recognizes Cargolux’s specificity as an all-cargo carrier with a fleet of purpose-built 747 freighters that each offer 4 distinct temperature zone.

“Healthcare and pharmaceuticals are highly sensitive products and we want to ensure our customers’ peace of mind during the transportation process. This certification represents a seal of approval from the industry which we intend to uphold in line with our commitment to service excellence,” said Franco Nanna, Cargolux director global logistics services.

Cargolux became the world’s first GDP certified airline in January 2014, confirming its compliance with EU GDP/WHO requirements. Cargolux’s hub at Luxembourg airport is also GDP certified.
