EVA AIR TO CONVERT THREE B777-300ER TO FREIGHTERS

Taiwan's EVA Air is set to convert three of its Boeing 777-300ER passenger aircraft into freighters.

The carrier has tapped Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) for the work according to a stock exchange filing by the airline which will take place from 2025.

It said each conversion would cost up to US$40 million for a total transaction of US$120 million.

EVA Air currently operates 34 B777-300ERs of which twelve are owned by the airline. The carrier also operates an existing fleet of eight B777-Fs.

The conversions are being undertaken as EVA reported a 15% profit growth in 2021 driven by cargo.
